West Brom to try and secure new deal with unsettled striker Phillips this week

West Bromwich Albion will meet with Kevin Phillips’s representatives this week to try and thrash out a new deal for the former England striker.
Albion will know by the end of the month whether Phillips will be part of their squad for the new Premier League campaign.
But the club’s chances of holding on to their out-of-contract Hungary midfielder Zoltan Gera remain slim with Fulham leading the race to sign him.

However, Gera would welcome the chance to talk to Everton if David Moyes takes his initial interest further.
But despite Phillips being strongly linked with a move to Derby County, Albion are still confident of being able to come up with the right package for their top scorer.
Phillips would like a two-year deal at The Hawthorns but he may have to compromise on certain conditions.
Stoke City, QPR and Leeds have all joined Derby in a waiting game to see if Phillips stays with Tony Mowbray’s side.
