West Ham end dispute with Brown

He had launched a High Court battle for damages claiming to have been sacked without notice from his role as honourary life vice-president last May.
Brown, who made more than £30m from the sale of West Ham to Icelandic billionaire Bjorgulfor Gudmundsson, was seeking damages for the loss of his £492,000 yearly salary, his chauffeur, loss of pension contributions, mileage allowance and even the use of eight seats in the directors' box, hospitality places and car parking.
West Ham had launched a counter-claim following their £5.5m fine for breaching Premier League rules in the signing of Carlos Tevez during Brown's tenure as chairman.
Neither Brown nor the club would reveal the precise details of today's settlement but both sides said they were happy with the outcome.
"I am pleased that we have brought these matters to a sensible conclusion," said the former chairman.
"Mr Gudmundsson has made clear his focus is on the future not the past and I totally support that vision. West Ham has always been a special part of my life."
Gudmundsson said: "It is time to move on from old disputes and focus on the future."
