Westmead lords it as Savva makes Derby history

Nick Savva secured an unprecedented third successive Blue Square Greyhound Derby as Westmead Lord led from the start to win tonight's Wimbledon showpiece.

Westmead Lord, one of two greyhounds trainer Savva had in the final, got a flying start from trap six to eclipse favourite Loyal Honcho and win at a price of 6-1.

Loyal Honcho finished strongly but Westmead Lord, who had not won any of the earlier rounds, held on to win by a neck and earn Savva the £100,000 first prize.

Forest Scholes came in third with Savva's second dog, Dilemmas Flight, taking fourth.

Savva said: "This is fantastic. It is unbelievable."
