We've sent a clear message to United, says table-topping Gunner

The Gunners extended their impressive unbeaten run to some 27 consecutive matches as the Royals were swept aside by a passing masterclass at Madejski Stadium.
Laying down the gauntlet: Adebayor (left) said it was important for the Gunners to go into the international break ahead of Manchester United
The 3-1 victory - during which Adebayor netted Arsenal's 1,000th Premier League strike - moved the north London side back to the top of the table on goals scored, and with a match in hand on the champions.
Although there are clearly more stern examinations ahead over the next six months, Wenger's side again showed they have the potential to challenge for top honours.
Togo striker Adebayor is in no doubt of the psychological boost their latest display will have provided, as the players jet off during the international break.
"The most important thing was to do a good job and win the game - but to be back at the top is great as well," he said.
"It is very important going into the international break. It gives us a lot of confidence.
"We wanted to stay ahead of Manchester (United) and show them we are strong - and we have done that.
"Of course, it is a long title race - and it's where you are at the end of the season that matters. But we are very happy with how things are going."
Wenger praised the way his young side have coped with the pressures on them, and the manner in which they passed another strong test of character.
The Arsenal manager believes the "great bonding" within the squad can lead to a period of sustained success.
Adebayor reflected: "We are playing really good football, and there is a great feeling in the team. We are like a family, and the spirit is excellent.
"We believe the squad is strong - you can see in the Carling Cup and against Slavia Prague that all the young players can come in and do a good job.
"That is important, because there are a lot of games coming up - and you need all your players for those."
After seeing a third-minute effort bounce back off the post, Adebayor finally ended his eight-match goal drought when he finished a fine move at the start of the second half.
He was denied a second goal by a rather dubious offside flag soon afterwards.
However, the 23-year-old was more than happy to be back on the scoresheet - feeling "a bit fresher" after starting on the bench in the Champions League game against Prague.
"You want to play in all games, but sometimes it is good to have a break - and I am feeling good at the moment," said Adebayor, who now has seven goals.
"I had not scored for a while - and, yes, that was on my mind. As a striker it is important to score. That is what you are judged on."
Wenger is, meanwhile, hoping his jet-setting international stars will return with a clean bill of health for the next Premier League game against Wigan at Emirates Stadium on November 24.
Arsenal will definitely be without 11-goal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, whose needless late caution last night will result in a one-match suspension.
Striker Robin van Persie is, though, likely to be back in contention following a knee problem.
It remains to be seen whether veteran German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann will feature for the Gunners again, after indicating he could be ready to further his career elsewhere in search of regular first-team football.
