The Egyptian midfielder left the bench during the draw at home to Blackburn in May but lasted less than half an hour before he, too, was replaced.
No regrets: Ghaly throws his shirt at Martin Jol after his substitution
As he trudged off the White Hart pitch Ghaly angered a capacity White Hart Lane crowd by taking off his shirt and hurling it to the ground.
He was immediately booed, jeered and verbally abused by the home fanatics but he told Egyptian television today: "It was a normal reaction, given what Tottenham did against me. Tottenham didn't allow me to play 30 matches to receive the bonus which was included in my contract. Furthermore, they didn't fulfil their promise of extending my contract."
Ghaly was set for a move to Birmingham City in the close season but the deal fell through when then Blues manager Steve Bruce criticised his attitude.
But the playmaker is again unrepentant and insisted: "The players lacked ambition there. They were just talking about how to escape relegation."
Ghaly revealed Premiership strugglers duo Derby County and Sunderland are both interested in signing him in January and said: "They made approaches but no concrete offer has been tabled. Things will become clear next month as the transfer window is looming."
The former Feyenoord man is training with his former club Ahli in order not to lose match fitness but has denied that he may return to his homeland.
"I'm not interested in moving back to Egypt. Ahli also never said they want me back," he said.
