Why won't you pick me? Shevchenko's plea to Mourinho

Andriy Shevchenko has piled the pressure on Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho by insisting: "I've no idea why he's not playing me."

Sheva, 31, cost a club record £30million from AC Milan last summer — but has been snubbed by Mourinho during Blues' stuttering start to the season.

The striker said: "I don't know why Mourinho isn't playing me.

"I don't understand but I'll remain calm and wait for my chance."

Chelsea lost their first Premier League match for eight months at Aston Villa on Sunday — and Ukraine star Sheva did not even feature on the bench.

Ex-Milan team-mate Zvonimir Boban played in a charity game with Shevchenko in Ukraine this week.

And he said: "He looks unhappy because he made the choice to leave Milan and now at Chelsea he's not happy.

"Milan are a much bigger and creative club — and that's made a big difference to him."
