Wigan skipper Barrett looks for home from home comforts

Wigan are set to use their 'eviction' from the JJB Stadium as additional motivation for tonight's engage Super League play-off tie against Bradford.

The elimination clash has been moved to Widnes' Stobart Stadium because of a
fixture clash with Wigan Athletic and Brian Noble's men hope to take out their
frustration on the Bulls for a second successive season.

Last year the Warriors were docked four points for a breach of the salary cap, a punishment that ultimately deprived them of a home tie in the play-offs, and captain Trent Barrett can see a similarity, with the players once more paying the price for off-the-field failures.

'We'd be more comfortable to play at the JJB but we can't use that as an excuse,' said Barrett.

'Adversity is nothing new to this team. We've come through a fair bit of it in the last two years and it would be a feather in our cap if we can win at Widnes.'

Playing away from home was not much of a handicap to Wigan a year ago when they
won at Bradford and Hull before their gallant run was brought to an end in the final eliminator at eventual champions Leeds.

Bradford's prospects of gaining a first away win over Wigan for three years have been improved by the switch to a "neutral" venue, however, and Noble is acutely aware of the danger posed by his old club.

It was Noble who engineered the Bulls' historic Grand Final triumph from third place in 2005, which came on their fifth successive visit to Old Trafford, and he is expecting them to be still smarting from their heart-breaking 31-30 home defeat by Wigan a year ago.

'We know there is a very vigorous outfit coming to play us that are used to this time of year,' he said.

'They were disappointed with last year but they have a history of doing well at this time of the year. It's about time we made some of our own history in respect of that.'

Noble's Odsal successor Steve McNamara is playing down the prospect of revenge
but remains confident his side can make the most of the momentum they have built
up by finishing the regular season with three straight wins.

'It's not the same group of players,' he said. 'We are all excited more by the finish we've had to the season and the position we've put ourselves in to go on with it.'

Meanwhile, Warrington have included injury doubts Adrian Morley, Lee Briers and
Paul Rauhihi in their 19-man squad for tomorrow's other play-off tie against
Catalans Dragons.

Briers missed last Saturday's home defeat by Huddersfield with a knee injury, while Morley picked up a stomach muscle problem in the game and Rauhihi was forced off with a twisted back.

But all three flew out to Perpignan yesterday, along with Ben Harrison, who is back from compassionate leave, and 18-year-old prop Adam Neal, whose only senior
appearance came in the Challenge Cup win at Leigh in April.
