You promised me Drogba, now deliver: Ancelotti begins plundering Chelsea

Carlo Ancelotti has targetted Chelsea striker Didier Drogba just 48 hours after rejecting the chance to become Stamford Bridge boss.

The Italian left the Blues in turmoil on Tuesday - and reports in The Sun suggest the main reason he has has agreed to stay at the San Siro is because they have promised to deliver Drogba.

Ancelotti made the demand during a 90-minute meeting with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Galliani then admitted Milan are currently in talks with Chelsea over the transfers of Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko.

He said: “We spoke to Peter Kenyon and we have the very best of relations.
“We spoke about Drogba, we spoke about Shevchenko, we spoke about lots of players.”

Chelsea would want £25million for Drogba but Ancelotti said: “I need a striker capable of fighting and being powerful against opponents the way they do in England.”

Milan face competition for Drogba from former Blues boss Jose Mourinho who took over at Inter on Tuesday.

Mourinho began his new job by confessing his desire to work again with some of the players from his former team.  Inter, by comparison, do have the funds available with Mourinho also keen on signing Frank Lampard and Ricardo Carvalho.
