Younes will be simply the best and that's no Kaboul, says Dawson

Michael Dawson is convinced Younes Kaboul is going to develop into one of the best central defenders in the Premier League.

The France Under-21 captain joined Spurs from Auxerre in a £8.5million deal during the summer and has been a regular in Martin Jol's side this season.

Making the leap: Younes Kaboul has settled in quickly to the Premiership

He has proved valuable in attack, scoring three times including the injury-time equaliser in the remarkable 4-4 draw at home to Aston Villa at the start of the month.

"Younes is strong in the air, good on the ball and he's got pace - what more do you want?" Dawson told the official Spurs website.

"He's still young and I'm sure there is still plenty more to come but he's a top-class player and you can see why the fans have taken to him.

"You could see as soon as he arrived at the club that he's a lively, bubbly character and a great guy to have around the club."
