The British duo scored the first perfect 10 of the series and were never challenged for first place.

Daley, who will become Britain's second youngest Olympian when he competes in China in September, said: "That was the best we've ever done on our opening two required dives."

The Plymouth schoolboy's latest superb display caps a phenomenal few months in which he has become British champion, the youngest winner of a gold medal at the European championships and booked his Olympic place in the individual and pairs events.

Aldridge added: "I'm delighted with the way we dived and with getting gold."
