Zara 'fine' despite fall

Zara Phillips declared herself "fine" despite suffering a fall at the Bramham International Horse Trials which today forced her to withdraw from the rest of the competition.

Phillips, the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year for 2006 after her gold medal-winning exploits at the World Championships in Germany, landed face first after being unseated from her horse Tsunami II at a seven-foot fence at the Yorkshire event, but played down the fall.

"I'm fine, it wasn't as bad as it looked. The horse caught the fence and nose-dived. I tumbled off and I'm sore and stiff all over, but nothing's broken," Phillips told BBC Sport.

"I'm travelling to Germany for another event on Monday and I plan to take part."

William Fox-Pitt won the senior event on Macchiato with a score of 51.7, ahead of Polly Stockton on Westwood Joker.

Fox-Pitt said: "I came here with aspirations of finishing in the top 10, but Bramham has often delivered nice surprises for me. The team here have worked so hard on the event, producing a wonderful course on excellent ground, and to win was fantastic."

Pippa Funnell slipped from third to fifth on Ensign after knocking three fences down.
