Adams: No Pompey fire sale

Adams has been guaranteed by Gaydamak he will be allowed to decide if anyone leaves Fratton Park and the former England captain is looking to bring in a couple of new players to bolster the depth of his squad.
Adams after Pompey's 1-1 draw with West Brom said: "Is there pressure on me to sell in January? The owner has said nothing changes with that and, like it was with Harry, he has said to me 'I'm totally supportive of you.' He thinks I'm doing a great job."
He added: "He has been supportive. I couldn't ask for better people to work for and I am just not saying that. If a ridiculous offer comes in, I'll accept it to be honest but he has not said to get rid of anyone.
"It will be my decision, that is the guarantee he has given me. In fact, I might add one or two players but that's it. I am not going to panic in January."
Adams is not expecting Gaydamak to make a quickfire sale of Pompey.
He said: "We just wanted to be open and honest with everyone to be honest. There are a lot of football clubs up for sale. The owner said he can't give the time and energy needed.
"He said he doesn't have to sell it today. He said he doesn't need to do it now. It is not going to be tomorrow. It isn't going to be in January, I think.
"It will not be until the right people with the right values come along. Every club is for sale at the right place.
"Nothing changes for now. He is a great owner, he is constantly on the phone to me giving me assurances. I actually feel I don't need them. I am getting on with the job and enjoying it."
