Aguirre unconcerned by Aguero talk

Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre has brushed off speculation linking star striker Sergio Aguero with Manchester City, insisting the Argentinian youngster is happy where he is.

Aguero has developed into the one of the game's most highly-rated strikers over the last couple of years and has been linked with Real Madrid, Internazionale and Chelsea as well as City, who are believed to have had scouts at Atletico's Primera Liga match against Getafe on Wednesday to check out the striker.

However, Aguirre is confident the former Independiente striker will not be quitting the Vicente Calderon club anytime soon, saying after his side's 2-1 win over Getafe: "On the subject of him possibly leaving, he has a contract here, he is happy here and I'm sure that is going to want to stay."

He added: "Sergio, I truly believe, is going to do very good things here."

Aguero joined Atletico from Independiente in the summer of 2006 for a fee reportedly in the region of 23million euros, and has four years left on his current contract.
