Allardyce satisfied despite gripes
29 January 2009
Allardyce was by far the happier manager following a 2-2 draw with former club Bolton at Ewood Park after Gary Megson's side had taken a two-goal lead.
Allardyce said: "I suppose in the end it's two points lost, who would have thought at half-time I'd be disappointed with a point at the end, but I have to say I am after that second half."
He added: "It was a tremendous fightback, tremendous recovery as we showed character and commitment first of all, and then the quality came through.
"But for the penalty miss and the header that hit the post (Ryan Nelsen in injury time) then it could have been a very important victory.
"In the end it's a moral victory, a very precious point and we can't be too disappointed with that."
Megson looks set to miss out on Sporting Lisbon star Miguel Veloso ahead of the closure of the transfer window on Monday as the two clubs appears miles apart in their valuation.
"They've made it clear what kind of money they want, and we won't pay that. If that's a stalemate, then we will move on," remarked Megson.
