Anderson strikes early

James Anderson picked up his third wicket to give England a perfect start on the third morning of the first npower Test against India at Lord's.

Lancashire paceman Anderson bowled Sourav Ganguly with a beauty in the sixth over of the day before Ryan Sidebottom dismissed nightwatchman Rudra Pratap Singh.

It left India on 173 for six - a deficit of 125 - and meant the 24-year-old Anderson had scalped Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Ganguly, a trio with 74 Test hundreds between them.
