Ashraful frustrates Proteas

Mohammad Ashraful hit an excellent 87 as Bangladesh set South Africa a testing target of 252 in their World Cup Super Eight meeting in Guyana.

Andre Nel, who finished with figures of five for 45, had put South Africa in control but Ashraful held firm to bat Bangladesh back into the game.

The 22-year-old put on 76 for the fifth wicket with Aftab Ahmed (35) and 54 for the seventh with Mashrafe Mortaza (25) to lift Bangladesh to their highest score of the tournament - 251 for eight.
