Award for Wilkinson

Salford supremo John Wilkinson, the longest-serving chairman in rugby league, was on Tuesday night presented with the Rugby League Writers' Association Order of Merit.

Wilkinson, who is in his 25th year as Salford chief, became the 26th recipient of the Arthur Brooks Trophy for services to rugby league at the association's annual dinner at Headingley.

Previous winners include Alex Murphy, Mal Meninga and Shaun Edwards.

Great Britain and Leeds Rhinos scrum-half Rob Burrow was presented with the Harry Sunderland Trophy for his man-of-the-match display in the engage Super League Grand Final.

The RLWA player-of-the-year award was won by Wigan stand-off Trent Barrett.
