Barton in clear at City

Barton attacked the Blues' hierarchy, claiming they had no long-term plan for the club, suggested that some of manager Stuart Pearce's buys were inadequate and admitted he would not have paid money to watch City this season had he been a fan.
Pearce has admitted the comments were ill-timed and ill-advised but, after chatting to the England international, the Blues boss said: "Joey has his own mind and his own thoughts. I don't think you take action against people when they express those views."
He added: "I do believe that anything that could be detrimental to the club should be dealt with internally. But I have spoken to him and I understand how passionate he is about Manchester City.
"I just feel that there are enough people outside the club who are prepared to criticise, I don't think you should do the job for them."
