Beckham nears England recall

Coach Steve McClaren is due to name an expanded squad for next week's friendly with Brazil and the crucial Euro 2008 qualifier in Estonia on June 6, and speculation is mounting Beckham will be handed a recall.
Originally axed immediately after the World Cup, McClaren has done nothing to diffuse the growing belief Beckham will return, preferring instead to ensure all attention is on his lunchtime announcement.
"All squads are important," he said. "I have put just as much thought into the squad as any other.
"We all know Estonia is a massive game and everyone will find out who is in my squad on Saturday. Beyond that, I am not discussing it."
McClaren claimed he had been given plenty to think about by Friday night's 3-1 win in the B international against Albania.
Alan Smith opened the scoring before Stewart Downing netted either side of the interval.
Downing looks set to capitalise on Aaron Lennon's injury when McClaren unveils his squad.
Lennon went off after just nine minutes with a twisted knee which will be scanned and then assessed before McClaren decides whether it is worth persevering with the Tottenham man.
Smith is also virtually certain to be included, along with Michael Owen.
