Becks savours Real happy ending

It may have been his toughest season at a professional footballer, but David Beckham was all smiles after helping Real Madrid clinch their first Primera Liga title since 2003.

Madrid clinched the championship with a 3-1 home win over Real Mallorca.

Beckham, who will join LA Galaxy later this summer, said: "It's been an incredible experience - but all I remember now is the great things. Winning this now puts to bed everything else."

He added: "I couldn't have dreamt it any better. It's been about winning the title for the last six months - and we've deserved it."
