Beijing delight for Darren

Darren Kenny won his fourth gold medal of the Paralympic Games as Great Britain celebrated four successes in Beijing on Saturday.

Kenny finished top of the podium on three occasions as Britain's cyclists won 12 out of 13 events entered at the Laoshan Velodrome earlier this week.

The 38-year-old from Dorset, who has cerebral palsy, placed second in the men's individual time-trial CP3 on day six, but bounced back on day seven to go one better than he did in Athens in the men's road race.

Kenny held off the challenge of time-trial gold medallist Javier Ochoa, a former Tour de France rider, to win in one hour 37 minutes 00.74 seconds, 1.74secs clear of the Spaniard.

It was Britain's 37th gold of the Games and took them one behind China in the medal table - Britain's cyclists have now won a remarkable 17 golds.

Danielle Brown and John Stubbs struck gold at the Olympic Green Archery Field before a glorious Games for Britain's cyclists continued on the road.

Rachel Morris, David Stone and Sarah Storey were victorious in their respective time-trials on day six and Britain have now won five out of nine events entered at the Ming Tomb Reservoir road cycling course.

Stone triumphed for the second time in two days in winning the mixed individual road race CP1/CP2 title before Kenny's victory.

Stone, 27, who has cerebral palsy and uses a tricycle, crossed the line in 45mins 05.33secs, 3mins 27.52secs ahead of his nearest challenger.

Morris was sixth in the women's HC A/HC B/HC C individual road race, while Mark Bristow and Simon Richardson could not add to their double golds at the velodrome.secs ahead of his nearest challenger to win the mixed individual road race CP1/CP2 title.
