Blues too much for defender to resist

Israel defender Tal Ben Haim insists every player in the world wants to join Chelsea after he completed his move to Stamford Bridge from Bolton on a free transfer.

Tal Ben Haim became the third player to sign for the Blues for nothing since the end of the season when he put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old Israeli international said: "I feel fantastic to be part of that amazing club. If you ask every player, they want to play for Chelsea, for that team. It's one of the best teams in the world so I'm very happy to be part of that."

The free transfer signing has played at both centre-back and right-back at former club Bolton and insists he will not disappoint new coach Jose Mourinho.

Ben Haim added: "I don't like to talk too much about myself but I can guarantee that I give 100% and hopefully I don't disappoint anybody, especially myself. I'm sure that everything will be okay and I'm waiting to start."

He follows Steve Sidwell and Claudio Pizzaro in moving to Stamford Bridge for nothing as Chelsea continue to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
