Bojinov making good progress

Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson claims that Valeri Bojinov is ahead of schedule as he recovers from ruptured knee ligaments.

The Bulgaria striker looks set to resume full training in about two weeks.

Eriksson said: "He is taking part in training but cannot have the contact yet. He will be able to join in full training about January 20 - and that is one month ahead of what we thought."

He added: "It is like having a new signing. He is quick, very strong, explosive with good technique and I can promise you a very hungry footballer.

"He wants to be successful at Manchester City. He has been working very hard to get back."
