Bonds equals record

San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds hit the 755th home run of his career on Saturday against the San Diego Padres to equal the record held by Hank Aaron for over 30 years.

The historic homer came off Padres' righthanded pitcher Clay Hensley in the second inning at Petco Park and he is now just one homer away from breaking Aaron's record, which he had held since 1974.

It brought to an end a frustrating wait for Bonds, who had his 754th home run eight days ago and came on the same day Alex Rodriguez had hit his 500th home run.
