Bowlers aid England recovery

Resuming the second day on a respectable 268 for four, England would have hoped to progress towards a competitive total when play got under way at 1.50pm, but they were dismissed for 298 after losing six wickets for 26 runs in 52 balls
But Michael Vaughan's men responded quickly with swing bowlers Ryan Sidebottom and Jimmy Anderson exploiting seamer-friendly conditions to claim a wicket apiece to leave India on 36 for two at tea on the second day.
Left-arm seamer Sidebottom claimed the first wicket when an inswinger trapped opener Dinesh Karthik lbw in the ninth over of their reply.
That lifted England's spirits, which were further boosted by the loss of India skipper Rahul Dravid only four overs before the interval when he pushed at an outswinger from Anderson and edged behind to Matt Prior.
Earlier, it was India's bowlers who dominated after captain Rahul Dravid took the new ball in the third over of the day.
Sidebottom was the first to go, bowled by Rudra Pratap Singh, before Kevin Pietersen edged Zaheer Khan behind.
Sri Sreesanth followed up by dismissing Matt Prior, Chris Tremlett and Monty Panesar, while Zaheer finished things off by bowling Ian Bell.
