Boycott calls for Flintoff to open

Former England opener Geoffrey Boycott believes Andrew Flintoff is the man who can give the one-day side's innings a much-needed boost.

England's series defeat in India was confirmed on Sunday night as they lost a rain-shortened game in Bangalore to fall 4-0 behind with three to play.

"Whoever worked out the batting order for this game needs their head testing," Boycott wrote in the Daily Telegraph. "Even in a 50-over game, like the one at Kanpur last week, I would not go in with Ian Bell and Ravi Bopara as openers. I would get Flintoff out there straight away - he is the man with the power to put the Indian bowlers on the defensive."
