Brave Warriors sink rivals

Glasgow bounced back to grab revenge over their oldest rivals Edinburgh with a vastly-improved display in their 25-20 Magners League victory at Firhill.

The Warriors had been in the doldrums after their Boxing Day bashing at the hands of the Gunners.

But they produced a brave retort on their own turf to jump back into the top three of the title tussle.

They may not have looked capable of cancelling out the 33-point deficit in the aggregate battle for the inter-city bragging rights.

But they could not disguise their delight at the result when the final whistle sounded.

Dan Parks led the point scoring two drop goals, three penalties and successfully converting Glasgow's only try, which came courtesy of Graeme Morrison.

Geoff Cross had opened the scoring with a try and Ben Cairns also crossed over for Edinburgh just a minute before the end, Phil Godman converting the first and scoring two penalties before David Blair kicked the late conversion in Godman's absence.
