Bruce demands Yeung meeting

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce wants a meeting with prospective club owner Carson Yeung to prevent "instability" at St Andrews.

Bruce said last week that he was not expecting Hong Kong businessman Yeung - who holds a near 30% stake in the club and is expected to extend his shareholding - to agree to the new rolling contract he had negotiated with the current board of directors.

There is now uncertainty over Bruce's future, with 20 months of his current deal left to run, and the manager told The Guardian: "I would like several issues resolved - more for the benefit of the club as a whole than anything else - so I'm going to try and set up a meeting. Generally football clubs do not progress if there is any instability."
