Bulls content with refs - it's official

Bradford say they would be happy to have controversial referees Steve Ganson and Ashley Klein in charge of future matches involving the Bulls.

Both officials have been dropped for this weekend's Challenge Cup ties following blunders that denied Bradford victory in their Super League derby with Leeds at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.

"Having met with all the parties involved, I am satisfied with the outcome of the meeting and we at the Bulls are completely happy to have either Steve Ganson or Ashley Klein officiating at Bulls games in future," said McNamara.

Match referee Ganson apologised for wrongly awarding the match-winning try to Leeds substitute Jordan Tansey while video referee Klein admitted that he was in the wrong to intervene in the build-up to an all-important penalty award.

Bulls coach Steve McNamara offered to wipe the slate clean after meeting on Thursday with both officials and referees controller Stuart Cummings in Leeds and also apologised to Ganson for claiming he "invented the penalty".

McNamara added: "In my opinion, it is in the best interests of the game to have the best referees officiating in the engage Super League and not sitting on the sidelines.

"I also apologised to Steve Ganson for comments I made following the game regarding the awarding of the penalty against our team as I have since discovered that he played no part in that decision."

Bradford, meanwhile, say they will continue their fight with the Rugby Football League to have the result overturned.
