Bulls give Rhinos a scare

The Rhinos completed a hat-trick of derby wins on Friday night with a 30-14 triumph at Odsal but the final scoreline did scant justice to a battling Bulls display epitomised by stand-in captain Glenn Morrison, who was struggling with a dead leg but waved away medical attention and stayed on the pitch to lead his troops.
Bradford coach Steve McNamara said: "He's probably the toughest player I've known who can play with injuries. He soldiers on. We didn't have much option but he held his hand up and stayed out there and his voice and his presence was of benefit to us."
The Bulls fully deserved their early 8-0 lead, courtesy of tries from David Solomona and Dave Halley, but third-choice marksman Paul Sykes failed to add either conversion and Leeds struck back just before the break with tries from Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow to snatch a 12-8 advantage.
Bradford were also the dominant team after half-time and regained the lead thanks to substitute Tame Tupou's first Super League try of the season but the Rhinos gave their opponents a lesson in finishing to take the spoils.
Ali Lauitiiti, Brent Webb and Keith Senior all touched down in the final quarter and skipper Kevin Sinfield took his goal tally to five from five attempts to break Andy Farrell's Super League record of scoring in 48 successive matches.
With their position at the head of the table seemingly secure, coach Brian McClennan immediately turned his thoughts to next Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final.
"We're pleased to get the win and consolidate our position at the top of the table," he said.
"We can now look forward to playing Wigan."
