The giant Tongan wing made his last ever Super League appearance in Friday's win over Leeds before switching codes to join Guinness Premiership outfit Gloucester, but Bradford have retained his registration and, with permission from Gloucester, could recall him for next month's Cup showdown.

"It's out of my hands and is up to the two clubs but I'd give Bradford 150% and I'd be back," said Vainikolo.

It is not yet clear whether last season's beaten Premiership finalists will allow Vainikolo to feature, but Bulls coach Steve McNamara is hopeful of bringing back the man known as the Volcano to face the Cup holders.

Returning to help Bradford to victory against St Helens would write another glorious chapter into Vainikolo's Odsal odyssey and raises the mouthwatering prospect of a Cup final farewell appearance at Wembley.
