Bulls sign Whitehead

Bradford Bulls have given promising second rower Elliott Whitehead an improved contract which will keep him at Odsal at least until the end of the 2011 season.

The 19-year-old, who was already contracted for another 12 months, has made a big impression since making his Super League debut against Wakefield in June and has appeared in seven of the Bulls' last 10 games.

"Elliott really deserves this," said coach Steve McNamara. "He's a smart footballer, both offensively and defensively, who knows how we want to play the game."

He added: "He's already offered plenty this season but he has a whole lot more to give too. I think with another pre-season under his belt, he'll really push on."
