Bulls top again after win

Andy Lynch and Iestyn Harris both crossed twice as Bradford claimed their first victory at Odsal in more than a month with a clinical, 52-22 destruction of struggling Hull KR.

The Bulls had lost their last two home fixtures but a blistering second-half performance saw them climb level with St Helens at the top of the engage Super League table.

Four Bradford tries in six minutes midway through the second half confirmed a sixth successive defeat for Justin Morgan's Rovers side, who are now facing the stark realities of life in Super League after a dream start to their top-flight campaign.

Despite the emphatic scoreline, Bradford had struggled to dominate in the early stages before Paul Deacon's delicate chip kick rebounded off the posts and allowed Lynch to open the scoring from close range.

But Hull KR quickly hit back when Jon Steel scuttled over following good work from Stanley Gene, Mark O'Neill and Luke Dyer on the right side.

Harris supported Sam Burgess after Deacon's darting break for his first try soon afterwards but again the visitors refused to wilt.

Tommy Gallagher burst through the Bulls' defence before feeding Gene and the former Odsal hero, given a warm welcome before the game, showed no mercy against his old team-mates by rolling over after escaping the despairing clutches of Lesley Vainikolo.

However, Harris' second established an eight-point lead for the Bulls just before the break to take the game beyond Rovers' reach.

David Tangatatoa barged through to cut the gap to just two soon after the restart but that was as good as it got for the visitors.

Lynch collected his double from Terry Newton's delayed ball, then Jamie Langley, Michael Platt, Ben Harris and Dave Halley all scored in a devastating six-minute blitz. David Solomona completed the rout while Deacon added eight goals and Dyer claimed a late consolation for Rovers.
