Burger makes Boks squad

South Africa coach Jake White has named a squad including flanker Schalk Burger for Friday's Pool A showdown with England.

White was expected to unveil his starting line-up for the pivotal group clash against the world champions but Burger's citing has delayed the team announcement.

Burger must appear before a disciplinary hearing for a dangerous tackle on Samoa's Junior Polu during the Springboks' World Cup opener.

Any ban - the hearing is to be held as soon as possible with tournament regulations stating the side has to be named 48 hours before kick-off - will force the back row to miss the clash against England.

Scrum-half Ruan Pienaar and centre Wynand Olivier, who has been drafted in to plug the gap left by Jean de Villiers' World Cup exit, are the new faces in the 22
