Burley set to talk to SFA

Southampton boss George Burley has refused to rule himself out of the running to become Scotland manager.

Saints chairman Leon Crouch has reluctantly agreed to let the former Ipswich and Derby boss talk to the Scottish Football Association about the vacant position, but Burley is remaining tight-lipped as to whether he would accept the job.

"It is a great honour that Scotland asked to speak to me and that will happen in the next few days," he told the club's website. "There is a lot to consider. I am very happy at Southampton but if your country asks to speak to you then it is only right to do so."

Burley is one of four men shortlisted for the position along with former Saints boss Graeme Souness, Celtic coach Tommy Burns and Motherwell manager Mark McGhee.
