Button confident on Brawn

Jenson Button is adamant he will be going for victory in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix in a legal car.

The Brawn GP driven by Button and team-mate Rubens Barrichello, as well as the Williams and Toyota, are to come under protest with the seven remaining teams believing the trio have failed to interpret correctly the new ruling relating to the rear diffuser.

Asked if it would be a huge disappointment if his car turns out to be illegal, Button replied: "You've said it."

However, he added: "It doesn't change anything for me. I can't do anything about it. It's down to Ross (Brawn) and whoever else is involved.

"It's not something I personally have any control over, and the best person to speak to about that is Ross."

But when questioned on whether he and Brawn felt the car was legal, Button replied: "For sure. Yeah."

As ringleaders, Ferrari and Renault have apparently discussed the matter with the stewards.

However, BMW Sauber boss Mario Theissen has confirmed his team will protest, stating: "Yes we will, and against all three teams.

"We are preparing our protest and then we will see what happens as it's not for me to decide right or wrong. It's for the FIA.

"But definitely there are different interpretations of the rules, and we need clarity as quickly as possible."
