Calzaghe senior in confident mood

Unbeaten Kessler has kept a low profile in the run-up to the big unification showdown, where the Dane's WBC and WBA titles and Calzaghe's WBO crown will be on the line.
"Of all the opponents Joe has boxed for the world title they have all had the same problem - namely how on earth do they fight Joe Calzaghe?" Enzo said. "I can picture Kessler in a classroom with a teacher in a funny hat pointing at a blackboard saying, you must do this, you must do that, but there is no system to beat Joe."
He added: "Kessler will have plans just like Jeff Lacy does. But when the bell rings you revert back to your old system. Kessler will be Kessler and Joe will be Joe - and if he wants to he can destroy this guy inside six rounds."
While the fighter shares his father's belief in his ability, he insists he will not take lightly the challenge posed by Kessler, who is along with Calzaghe the pre-eminent 12-stone fighter of his generation.
Calzaghe says he will treat this 21st defence of his title in the same way as any other in order to avoid the pitfalls experienced by former world-class British fighters in the past.
Calzaghe said: "Over-confidence is a weakness because it stops you training as hard as you should. It has happened to fighters like Naseem Hamed and Lennox Lewis.
"It is one of my strengths. Even when I fight a late substitute like Tocker Pudwill I prepare in the same way. I never think I'll skip on that run or that round of sparring.
"Complacency beats fighters. Even if I think I could beat that guy with one hand I train the same. Obviously mentally you get up for some fights more, but physically you take nothing for granted in this game."
