Calzaghe wants slice of American Pie

Next Saturday night in Cardiff, Calzaghe will equal the records of Larry Holmes and Bernard Hopkins if he successfully defends his WBO super-middleweight title for the 20th time against Peter Manfredo.
"The day I am not a winner, the day I realise that I am not the best any more, then I walk away. At the moment, in an ideal world, I am looking at 16 months to two years," said Calzaghe.
The expected Millennium Stadium crowd of over 33,000 should mark British boxing's biggest date since Nigel Benn faced Chris Eubank at White Hart Lane in 1993 - and, as the roof is closed, the biggest ever at an 'indoor' venue.
And the occasion could mark Calzaghe's final appearance in front of his home-town fans with his Home Box Office paymasters keen to take him to America before he hangs up his gloves.
Calzaghe added: "I would not retire and make a comeback, because I would be fighting for the same thing I won in the first place. I want to be one of the few fighters who retires at the top without getting a beating."
