Capello keen on England challenge

Capello, who was sacked by Madrid despite leading the Spanish giants to the Primera Liga crown earlier this year, would be interested in succeeding Steve McClaren, who was dismissed on Thursday after England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008.
While commentating during Wednesday's qualifying game between Italy and the Faroe Islands for Italian TV channel Rai, Capello said: "Me to coach England? It would be a challenge, a beautiful test to overcome and I would have the right age."
The 61-year-old, who has also enjoyed successful spells at AC Milan, Juventus and Roma, was recently linked with a move to Tottenham in England's Premier League but Spurs appointed Spanish coach Juande Ramos instead.
Martin O'Neill, meanwhile, has insisted he is "committed" to Aston Villa after he emerged as an early favourite to succeed McClaren.
O'Neill has been made 7/4 favourite by bookmakers Ladbrokes to take over, but O'Neill took time out only hours before England's exit from Euro 2008 was confirmed by the home defeat by Croatia to claim reports linking him to the national post were "absolute nonsense."
The Northern Irishman, who was a candidate after Sven-Goran Eriksson's departure in the summer of 2006, was upset that he was supposedly "keeping his door open" in case the FA approached him.
He said: "It is absolute nonsense. I am committed to Aston Villa. I cannot end speculation. I have had it for years and years and years, no matter what you say.
"I have a big commitment to Aston Villa. It is as simple as that."
Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is 7/2 with Portuguese coach Luiz Felipe Scolari 5/1 and Russia coach Guus Hiddink 6/1.
