Capello: National centre just fab

Fabio Capello believes the proposed new National Football Centre will prove an "inspiration" to the country's players after visiting the site on Monday.

The England manager was in Burton to inspect some of the pitches and facilities and was impressed by what he saw.

"It's an incredible site, I didn't realise how big it was going be," he said. "This place will be an inspiration to every footballer who has the opportunity to train here when the National Football Centre is completed."

He added: "The pitches are fantastic and I know there are great plans for the buildings as well. I look forward to bringing the England team here in the future.

"This will be the true heartbeat of Club England for years to come."

The Football Association are set to confirm Burton as the venue for the National Football Centre at a board meeting on June 3.
