Carrick hails terrific Tevez

Manchester United's glory march continued as Carlos Tevez helped sweep aside Fulham to earn a place in the FA Cup semi-finals - and team-mate Michael Carrick saluted the Argentinian's impact.

Tevez scored twice before half-time while Wayne Rooney and Ji-sung Park both netted in the second half.

"It was a great strike, he's scored quite a few to be fair but that one was special," said Carrick.

"His two important goals in the first half put us in control of the game and after that it was pretty comfortable for us.

"I think he's still played his fair share of games the same as everyone else, everyone gets rotated at some point and the players that have come in have been on top form.

"Hopefully that will continue because there's a lot of games coming up. But Carlos was excellent."

Carrick was impressed by the combination in attack between Tevez and Rooney.

The England midfielder said: "In the first half we played some good stuff and I thought the front two were brilliant.

"We created a number of chances and Wazza (Rooney) missed a bit of an easy chance but he made up for it. And we kept a clean sheet so we're very happy."
