Carter helps Perpignan past Tigers

The All Black fly-half succeeded with six kicks from eight attempts, including converting both of Perpignan's tries, to inflict a first European defeat of the campaign on the visitors.
Tom Croft and Scott Hamilton sparked Leicester's hopes of upsetting the welcome party for Carter with tries either side of half-time, but a losing bonus point was enough to keep the Tigers level with Pool Three leaders Ospreys.
Carter took just 11 minutes to open hias account with a penalty to cancel out one from opposite number Toby Flood.
Just three minutes later Carter stepped up again, this time to stroke over the conversion after playing a part in the game's opening try from Gerrie Britz.
Nicolas Durand combined with Carter and Julien Candelon to send Britz over and Carter then added a penalty following Hamilton's high tackle on Adrien Plante.
Matt Smith's legitimate challenge on Plante 10 minutes later prevented a second Perpignan try, but referee Allan Lewis brought back play for a penalty that Carter dispatched with ease.
But Leicester hit back and when Ben Kayser made the initial burst, scrum-half Julien Dupuy switched direction to the blindside where Ben Kay and Jordan Crane combined to send Croft over. Flood added the conversion.
Damien Chouly charged down a clearance attempt from Dupuy within yards of the line, the bounce evaded Flood and Britz grabbed his second try from close range amd Carter converted.
Flood added a second penalty before Hamilton crashed over from close range and Flood added the extras to bring the score to 23-20 but Carter's fourth penalty sealed it.
