Chambers ponders way forward

Under a BOA by-law Chambers is banned for life from representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games after committing an anti-doping violation, but the 29-year-old sprinter is considering legal action to overturn the BOA regulation and is determined to compete in Beijing.
Chambers met with his lawyer Nick Collins and Jonathan Crystal, an eminent sports media barrister, on Thursday and Collins said: "It was a very positive meeting and Dwain has gone away to think things over before making a final decision (whether to challenge his ban)."
He added: "He's still very much on a high after winning his silver medal (at the World Indoor Championships). But he knows he must think about the cost of litigation if he challenges the BOA."
BOA chairman Lord Moynihan has already stated they will fight whatever action Chambers takes whether it is through the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) or in the courts, whatever the financial cost may be.
Lord Moynihan said on Wednesday: "I will robustly and vigorously defend our by-laws in the interest of all the athletes who seek to represent us both in this generation and future generations - and I'm not going to trade that in for any financial interest.
"We will pay whatever is necessary to have top lawyers represent us and put the strongest case in support of that ban.
"We have expectations that it would be very expensive for the British Olympic Association.
"I am not going to put a figure on it now but we will find whatever financial resources necessary to put the strongest possible defence of our by-law."
