Worries over security at the tournament, which will now be based at Lahore and Karachi after the International Cricket Council chose to drop Rawalpindi as a venue, have already prompted meetings with New Zealand and Australia in an attempt to allay their fears.
Haroon Lorgat, the ICC's chief executive, faces another set of concerned players on Sunday night in Edinburgh when he addresses England's one-day squad and management about the measures in place to ensure safety is at a premium during the tournament.
Following the discussion, a report will be given to the Board of the England and Wales Cricket Board, who are due to meet on Tuesday, and a final decision will be made after that.
"So far it hasn't been a distraction because it's been through a process," explained England coach Peter Moores.
"The idea for us is to try and get it cleared up.
"It's a chance to listen to Haroon Lorgat about what the situation is so all the players are fully informed knowing that the board are then going to meet on Tuesday and make a decision on whether we're going or not.
"We want to listen to what Haroon has to say, the key being that if an England team is going there it's got to be safe for them to go otherwise we're not going to go."
The ICC have so far failed in their bid to persuade New Zealand to go to the tournament, who remain sceptical about travelling to Pakistan, while Australia are also believed to have fears about security.
Lorgat is also expected to talk to the South African squad later this week to try and resolve the issue and, if not, discuss the possibility of moving to an alternative venue such as Sri Lanka.
