Chepstow announce inspection

Officials at Chepstow will inspect the course at 10am today to assess whether racing can go ahead this evening.

The course has been hit with a significant amount of rain over the past 24 hours and is now heavy and waterlogged in places.

Clerk of the course Tim Long said: "We've had torrential rain overnight and it hasn't stopped."

He added: "It would have been around 10 millimetres through the day yesterday and then we've had another 40 millimetres plus from then. It's still raining heavily here now and we're waterlogged in places.

"But we'll have a look at 10 o'clock, with a forecast of rain being slow to clear in the morning and breaking into showers and hopefully clearing this afternoon."
