Chepstow meeting abandoned

Monday night's evening fixture at Chepstow has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Clerk of the course Tim Long had earlier scheduled an inspection for 10am in the morning after the course was hit with 50 millimetres of rain over the past 24 hours.

However, with more rain forecast and no sign of the weather clearing up, he has been forced to bring his decision forward and call the meeting off.

"Unfortunately, Chepstow has been abandoned," he confirmed. "We have had some very heavy rain and it is still raining now. The course is waterlogged and we have had to call it off."
