Cid heading for departure
14 January 2008
The centre-back underwent a medical at the southerners on Friday and has already signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, according to French daily L'Equipe.
The 24-year-old, who only joined Bolton last summer, could make his debut for the French side on Sunday against Nancy at the Stade du Ray, and said: "I am happy because I wanted to return to France in the transfer window."
He added: "I didn't play much in England but I discovered a new country, a new league and it is an important step for me.
"At Nice, I will not be lost. I already know Lilian Laslandes and Cyril Rool and that will allow me to integrate quicker.
"I can't wait to make my return."
Cid has played just 14 times for the Trotters since moving to the Reebok Stadium on a free transfer.
