Cisse frustration at decision delay

Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse is annoyed at the delay over a decision on his future.

The 27-year-old Frenchman, currently on a season-long loan deal at the Stadium of Light from Marseille, is currently waiting for the Black Cats to secure their Barclays Premier League status before they consider whether or not to make his move permanent.

"It is not nice to worry about where I am going to be in a few months," he told the Sunderland Echo.

Cisse's situation is complicated by the weakness of the pound against the euro, which means the fee agreed between the two clubs last summer could amount to up to £3million more than it did then.

While the former Liverpool frontman is not blaming the Wearsiders for their caution, he admits the situation is difficult.

"It is not just affecting me - I have family and children to think about. It is really annoying me, to be honest," he added.

"I would like to know asap where I'm going to be next season. But it is not me who decides, the board must make a decision.

"I know things have changed because the British currency is not as strong. We also still need to get points to make sure we stay in the Premier League - that's everyone's priority at the moment.

"It is no one's fault that the decision is not made, but I still need to know."

Cisse has been a big hit at Sunderland and has 10 goals to his name, latterly in partnership with Kenwyne Jones.
