City call 3pm press conference

Manchester City have called a 3pm press conference to unveil their new manager.

It is widely expected the Blues will confirm former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has signed a three-year contract to take the club into a new era under a new owner, former Thailand prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Eriksson has been in Manchester since Tuesday, taking training for the first time on Wednesday.

Aware of the phenomenal interest in Stuart Pearce's successor, City have opted to hold their press conference in a building adjacent to their Eastlands stadium when Eriksson will hold his first major media appointment since the aftermath of England's World Cup exit in 2006.
