The former Leeds and Wigan full-back has completed his first full training session after recovering from a hernia operation and is hoping to make his debut against Huddersfield on Sunday, but Chris Riley produced an accomplished full-back display in Friday's win at Bradford and he is also facing competition from Chris Hicks.

"Although Richie is a good player and brings a lot of qualities to the team, he has no divine right to walk in and get that shirt straight away," said assistant coach James Lowes.

"He's got to earn his place and he knows that. He's working extremely hard to challenge the likes of Riles and Hicks."
